Tulip Time

Tulips live in road side trenches
tourists sit on metal benches
children walk the streets while holding poles

Curbs will stop the water rising
trailers sell what's appetizing
merchants stay inside like hungry moles

Streets hear sounds of wooden klomping
parks endure the annual stomping
windmills are on every kind of thing

Pigs in blankets come in handy
everyone loves cotton candy
buses filled with seniors every spring

Bands march by with horns a blazing
elephants with cinnamon glazing
crowds are deep at 8th and River Way

Parents proudly point and cheer
co-eds opt for brew pub beer
Holland is once more the place to stay
