There is a large wood dining table
and a spacious window
where one sits alone at breakfast
looks out at trees and shrubs
and wonders as the day begins
where things will lead
My juice is the same all these years
funny that I still love it's taste
really, if we ran out I would panic
somethings change but not my juice
no sir
my table has changed
my view has changed
my need for juice has not
Someone wrote just the other day
that prosperity would usher in the end
it's Truth they said, you can look it up
and, the world is actually quite at peace
more so than ever before
it's Truth they said
well, I must be Stupid I thought
looking at the barren spring trees
and the rather large pile of limbs and leaves
and other debris our neighbor has piled along the road
If I were a betting man
I would say that the dow will hit 20
just before it drops to 10
I don't have any stocks
so I won't jump out any windows
although my window's on the ground floor
across from the pile of debris
on the other side of the road
It is always much more pleasant
those mornings when the sun shines
even when it's quite windy which it was today
a thought came forward from my memory
a dear friend once said that he had worked by the water's edge
every day the wind would blow, every day
after a couple of weeks it can make you go crazy he said
CRAZY
Eventually it is time to go
pick up my glass and get on with life
for years our best friend
orange juice and me
was the daily word
fresh each morning
kick start the day
my way not to go crazy
now the word is my evening companion
ice water and I like it
it calms my anxious soul
and helps me know
where things will lead
